Is Value Investing Dead?

There is a MeetUp group for investors and traders in the area where I live. The meeting frequency is about once a month, where people will share their ideas, techniques, and trade updates. During one such gathering, a huge debate erupted. There formed two groups: claiming trading is a better way to make money, and some said value investing is the safest way to make money.

The groups presented their trades, holdings, average profit/loss, the number of transactions, etc. The majority was towards trading, and value investors were left stranded without a 'value.'

Here is my write-up, and I am sharing my journey as a Value-Investor. There is nothing wrong with trading and investing, as long as one makes money! I only trade a few when some pronounced signals lead to solid conviction, yet I sometimes cut-loss as markets prove me wrong. There are also enough traders with numerous tweets and youtube videos, but hardly any value-investors opening up their positions.

So, here is my Value-Investing Journey:
